C. P. E. Bach was one the most significant composers of the 18th century. He was more successful than his father during his lifetime and his body of work was unusually widely distributed.

He is one of the main representatives of the musical sentimental style – the epoch combining the Baroque era and the Viennese Classic. His early work was still influenced by the Berlin School, but over time he developed his individual style far from contemporary movements. His compositions are extensive and diverse: Symphonies, Concertos for key instruments, duos, sonata for trios, quartets, piano sonata (more than a 150), compositions for organs, Passion-Pasticcio, Oratories, Motets, Songs and more …
