Concert for the famous Harbour Birthday in Hamburg

This concert is happening in course of the yearly and popular Harbour Festival and will offer a music by composers connected to Hamburg: Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, Georg Friedrich Händel, Georg Philipp Telemann und Johann Adolf Hasse.
We will hear Bach's 'Holy' for a doublechoir, which he himself admired so much, that we would not forget him after his death.
Bach's Fantasy and fugue in c-minor will be performed on the great Katharinen-Organ. The instruments construction was just finished in June 2013 and is based on the organ his father, Johann Sebastian, performed on in 1720.

Georg Friedrich Händel, already active as violinist and harpsichordist in Hamburg since 1703. He is represented with several festive pieces on this evening. The evening will end with his "Feuerwerksmusik" (Firework music). On leaving the concert, the audience will fall on the sight of a real Firework display over the Hamburg harbour - the great and famous highlight of the Hamburger Harbour-Birthday festivities.
