Genius – Genus – Genealogies: reception and discourse of Bach's genius
During the lecture series "gender studies and music" of the HfMT, the "original genius" Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach will be highlighted from a musicological, artistic and gender-critical point of view: as a composer, harpsichordist, piano tutor and municipal music director. The lecture explores how he is portrayed today, looking at his works, letters, contemporaneous documents and their receptional history.
