Georg Friedrich Händel: Trio-sonata for violin, oboe and basso continuo Nr. 1 B-major HWV 380
The loyal guest and legendary violonist Yehudi Menuhin was supposed to give a concert in Ludwigshafen in 1999. Unfortunately he died a few weeks beforehand. A young and unknown female violonist from Tiflis replaced him on short noticel: Lisa Batiashvili. She played Beethovens violinconcerto, a piece that also part of Menuhins great repetoir until his death. By now Lisa Batiashvili is known around the globe and counts among the most sought-after virtuosi of our time. Since her memorable performance in 1999, she happily returns regularly to the BASF-Feierabendhaus - this time with the premiere of her new programme: Chamber music by Johann Sebastian Bach, his son Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach and Georg Friedrich Händel.
